£5,000 is up for grabs for community groups in and around Rugby, with each project receiving up to £1,000.
The grant is being launched to celebrate the opening of a significant new extension to Elliott’s Field. The extension has very high environmental credentials. In fact, it’s rated as BREEAM “outstanding” which makes Elliott’s Field the first retail park in the world to be so highly accredited and the first to be operationally carbon neutral.
But community group leaders are urged to hurry because there’s only four weeks to apply, with a closing date of midnight on October 29.

The grant has the following objectives:
*To help green-minded community initiatives in Rugby achieve their goals
*To create a legacy to celebrate the extension’s significant environmental credentials
*To champion Rugby’s community spirit, creativity and potential
Each entry will be judged by a panel comprising the ward councillors and editors of the local press.
Winning groups will be selected by mid-November 2017. The selected groups will need to achieve their objectives within 6 months of receiving the funding.
The grant is available to groups that operate within the Rugby area postcodes of CV21, CV22 and CV23. If your group is outside the catchment area but only just, you can still apply but remember groups nearer the centre have an advantage.
